Fancy Pink

diamonds are extremely rare and expensive gemstones. The origin of the pink color is not clearly understood by researchers. Similar to brown diamonds, gemologists believe that defects and distortions in the crystal lattice create color centers that partially absorb and refract incoming light within the visible spectrum. Pink diamonds regularly set new auction records, such as the 59.6 ct. "Pink Star", which fetched USD 71 million, the highest auction price ever recorded worldwide.
